2023 Bible Reading Plan

This year we will be studying the Gospel of John on Sunday mornings. One interesting fact is that John never refers to himself by name in the Gospel of John but only as "the disciple whom Jesus loved." Some have speculated that John had a closer relationship to Jesus than the other disciples. While there is nothing wrong with that view, one commentator suggested that John wrote that simply because John always felt loved by Jesus. When you and I read God's Word (sometimes referred to as God’s love letter) we experience the same love that John felt from Jesus because Jesus is “The Word made flesh.”

A great accompaniment to studying the Gospel written by “The Disciple whom Jesus loved” will be reading God’s Love Letter to us. We are using a new reading plan that has a chapter from the NT, a couple chapters from the OT, a Psalm everyday, and comments from some of our own members of Parkway.

Would you join us in reading God's Love Letter to You - Chronological Bible in a Year, with me and the Parkway family? I’d love to study God’s Word with you in 2023 as we discover God’s love for us!

Grace and peace, Pastor Derek
