PRAYING FOR MISSIONS

We yearn for all peoples to know and love Christ, and prayer is our first strategy for joining God in His mission.
  • 10:02 am/9:38 pm. Join the Parkway family in using these two reminder times on to correlate with Luke 10:2 and Matthew 9:30, which tell us to “pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
  • Local missions. Subscribe here to receive the Parkway weekly prayer update.
  • National missions. North America needs the gospel. Find prayer guides, calendars, and daily requests from church planters on the NAMB site. 
  • International missions: The International Mission Board offers free resources such as the monthly “Loving the Lost” guide, daily prayer requests by email, and an app with missionary prayer requests and updates. Visit the IMB site.

Parkway’s annual Acts 1:8 Missions Offering supports all our missionaries. When you give specifically to this offering, you participate in Parkway's vision of sending laborers in the harvest fields by supporting:
  • Parkway's primary partner missionaries and church planters.
  • State missions through the SBCV Vision Virginia State Missions offering.
  • National missions with North American Mission Board through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
  • International missionaries with the International Mission Board through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

SENDING AND BEING SENT

Parkway has developed a training program for people pursuing God’s call to ministry or missions.
We conduct this program in partnership with our state Baptist convention (SBCV) and sister Baptist churches in Central Virginia. It consists of fall and spring semesters with monthly seminars, reading and learning assignments, and personal mentoring.
