In February 2017 Parkway affirmed Pastor Derek Futrell as Senior Pastor, but his history with Parkway starts several years prior. In 2002 Derek had the opportunity to serve on the church planting team of Parkway with our founding pastor, Dr. Brian Autry. He served Parkway as the Worship & Student Pastor for the first 5 years and then as Pastor for Worship & Missions from 2007-2014. Passionate about preaching and teaching the Word, God called Derek, his wife Melissa, and their 5 children to another part of Virginia where he led a local church as Senior Pastor until he was called back to Parkway in early 2017.

With a servant heart and a passion for missions and church-planting, Pastor Derek serves with enthusiasm and authenticity.
